Welcome to La Isla Del Encanto...

Misc Pics 090

We arrived in Puerto Rico. We did not have a car, or a place to live and we only had what we could carry in our luggage. We stayed at Abuela’s house and although we wanted to rest and go to the beach, we started house hunting right away because Vanessa only had ten days before she had to be at work.

The house hunting was utterly frustrating. Houses in Puerto Rico are very expensive and the choices have much to say about them. We finally found a house after about four days of constant looking. The house is in Dorado—one of the nicest and safest areas in the Island—it is big, comfy and it has a beautiful—but small—yard with a pool.

We moved in our beautiful huge empty house and spent almost a month with very little borrowed furniture. The kids love the house and they love the pool. The weather is great and we hope that we can have a great cultural experience while in the Island.

In this blog, we will let you know about our experiences here—good or bad—our opinions and how we are adapting to our new lives. The authors will vary from Trace, to Vanessa and maybe sometimes even Kabral so the opinions may be different. We hope that you enjoy our blog and that you state your opinions as well. See ya later.

Our Last Days in Yelm, WA

welcome home banner

During June, we prepared to leave our beautiful home in Yelm, WA to move to Puerto Rico for the next three years. It is bittersweet because although we look forward to the tropics and new experiences in the Caribbean, we also love our piece of heaven in WA and will miss it incredibly.

Close Up

All of Trace’s Family traveled to WA and spent a few days with us while we celebrated Vanessa’s return home. We also welcomed our good, good friend Dave who came from New Mexico to share the occasion with us. Our friends from WA also met us at home and we had a great time. Trace and the kids played 16 songs for Mom; four of them original songs from “The Missing Link.”

welcome home week 144

We had a really good time during that week but shortly after we spent our time preparing the house for renting. The movers came to pick up our stuff and by June 18th we were out of our house and on the plane destined to Puerto Rico.

We love our house in WA and we miss our friends dearly but we hope that all of those who can, come and see us. See ya later Washington.
